Letter to New Parents from the Chair of GovernorsDear Parents It is with great pleasure that I offer you and your child a warm and friendly welcome to Sudley Infant School. I have three children who have all enjoyed the “Sudley experience” and it is not just mine, but their recommendation that I pass on to you as a new entrant to our school. This recommendation is based, not only, on the high standard of teaching that each child receives at Sudley, but on the whole educational environment at the school.
The governors are responsible for overseeing the policies and general interests of the school and to ensure that the school is run for the benefit of all. We work in close partnership with the Headteacher who has responsibility for all the day-to-day management of the school. Both myself and the parent governors can be contacted through the school – during your child’s first term you will receive a governors’ newsletter which will include direct phone numbers and times when governors may be available in school. You will also receive an invitation to the governors’ AGM which will be held early in the Autumn term. Apart from giving you an opportunity to see who your governors are, it is likely that during your time at Sudley there will be parent governor elections and this is a good time to find out more about what the ‘job’ involves.
In the last few years we have seen major work completed at the school, additional classrooms, improvements to the roof and the wonderful hall extension. All these works have been to enhance the school and your child’s education. Your child’s first few years at school are vitally important and will pass by all too quickly, (as I now know) but I hope that we can work together to make these first years a positive and happy learning experience.
