Sudley Infant School

NEWSLETTER 1 (2004)                                     29th January 2004

Dear Parents, Guardians, Friends & Governors

Parent Telephone Line   May I remind you to use 728 9639 (Mrs Bain or Mrs Williams) for any messages or queries to do with your child – our other number is for a different office.

September 2004   All applications for a place this September should be in by the end of January.  If you know of anyone who has not yet applied, please remind them.  On the subject of prospective parents, I had an interesting chat with one yesterday that you should know about.  The parent told me that she lived equidistance to three schools and she had made enquiries with other parents at her child’s nursery.  The parent told me she hadn’t heard a ‘bad word’ about the school and after her brief ’showround’ by

Mrs Bain was delighted with the atmosphere compared with the two other schools.  Whilst in my office two children came in to show me some work and I asked them to tell the lady what they liked about our school.  They said ‘work and helping friends’.  A fantastic response!

I or the staff never take your support for granted.  We are thankful for your enthusiasm and kind comments.

School Council   I am delighted to announce that we have an active school council.  Elections were held in Year 2 classes at the end of term and there are four children from each class who meet with

Miss Carbery every so often.  Agenda items include – what a school council is, friendship stop, litter monitors and many other general suggestions.  Thanks to Miss Carbery for getting this going – a definite asset to our school.

Marie Curie Daffodils will be on sale when we return after half term.  Donations not less than 30p please.

Hope you all saw the article about our school in the Merseymart.
