General safety

I would be grateful if all parents would note the following points:-

-     This is a no smoking site.

-     Dogs are not allowed on the premises.

-     It is an offence to stop on the zig-zag lines on the road outside the school for any reason.  It may

also be an offence in law to park opposite zig-zag lines painted on a road.  This space must be

left clear.  It is important that you park elsewhere to drop and collect your child/children.

-     Children should enter and leave the school grounds by the path and appropriate gate.

-     Parents and children should not enter the school grounds via the large gate on Lugard Road - this is a vehicle entrance.  This gate will be shut and should remain shut at all times - if you see it open please close it.

-     Children must not throw grass especially freshly mown grass - we have a number of asthma sufferers and this could aggravate their condition.

-     Please make sure your child does not walk/jump on our flower beds or drop litter.

-     Main entrance adjacent to Owls class - there is an intercom system in place.  The main entrance is only open at the beginning of the day, breaktimes and at the end of the day.  Children will not open the door at any time.

-  All visitors have to register and wear a security badge.

-  There are now nine supervisory assistants employed at the school to ensure children's safety at

     lunchtime.

-  An adult is always on duty during morning and afternoon play.

All these issues are explained and discussed with your children regularly in class and in assemblies.  I would appreciate your co-operation to create an orderly and safe environment.
